On Saturday night, Prime Minister Modi and US President Joe Biden engaged in bilateral talks at Biden's residence in Delaware. The discussions covered various issues, including the Indo-Pacific region and the India-US Partnership. Following the meeting, PM Modi expressed his gratitude to Biden, acknowledging the importance of their dialogue.

After the bilateral talks, PM Modi shared on X, 'I thank President Biden for hosting me at his residence in Greenville, Delaware. Our discussions were truly meaningful, allowing us to cover regional and global issues thoroughly.'

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared details on X, stating that PM Modi and Joe Biden held bilateral talks today in Wilmington, Delaware, at President Biden's residence. The discussions aimed to deepen the India-US bilateral partnership in areas of mutual interest, covering several global and regional topics, including the Indo-Pacific region.

Warm welcome

After the talks, Prime Minister Modi departed from Biden's residence, with the US President personally seeing him off and sharing a warm embrace. Earlier, upon Modi's arrival, Biden warmly welcomed him with a hug and led him inside the residence, hand in hand.

'India-US Partnership Stronger than Ever'

President Biden also posted on X about the meeting, stating, 'The partnership between the US and India is stronger, closer, and more dynamic than at any point in history. When I sit down with Prime Minister Modi, I'm always amazed at our capacity to explore new areas of collaboration. Today's meeting was no different.' Notably, the bilateral discussions were attended by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary, and Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

PM Modi's 9th US Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to the US. During this visit, he will participate in the Quad Summit and hold several bilateral meetings. This marks Modi's ninth visit to the US as PM, having visited eight times previously. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had announced that Prime Minister Modi would be in the US from September 21 to 23.

What is PM Modi's schedule?

  Prime Minister Modi will participate in the fourth Quad Summit with leaders on September 21 in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by US President Joe Biden. On September 22, he will attend an event with the Indian community in New York. On the final day of his visit, September 23, PM Modi will partake in the 'Summit of the Future' at the United Nations.
