Chaos erupted at Patna Airport on Sunday as passengers arriving from Chennai and Bengaluru on an Air India flight found that their luggage was not loaded onboard. Furious passengers accused Air India of significant negligence, resulting in prolonged chaos at the airport.
No Luggage for Passengers
According to reports, Air India flight IX2936 landed at Patna Airport at around 9:00 AM. Approximately 180 passengers were informed that their luggage could be found at belt number 4. However, when they reached there, they found no luggage. The Air India ground staff later explained that due to excessive weight, the luggage was not loaded.
Some Passengers Missed Connecting Flights
Agitated passengers protested vehemently at the airport after learning this. Many shared that their bags contained essential items for a wedding, and they could no longer participate in the event. Furthermore, some passengers had connecting flights, causing them further distress due to the missing luggage.
The CISF personnel and airline staff managed to calm the passengers, but the incident evoked strong opposition against Air India's negligence.
It is reported that this is the second such incident in 15 days where Air India failed to load passengers' luggage. A similar issue was previously reported on a flight from Bengaluru.
Passengers are demanding that Air India prevent such incidents in the future and ensure the timely delivery of luggage to avoid affecting weddings, trips, or critical events.
