Pakistan vs Oman, Asia Cup 2025:

In match number 4 of the Asia Cup 2025, held on Friday (September 12), Pakistan faced Oman. In this Group-A match played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan defeated Oman by 93 runs. Oman was given a target of 161 runs to chase but they were bowled out for 67 runs in 16.4 overs. This was the first international match between Pakistan and Oman.

From the outset, the Omani team kept losing wickets in their chase. By the time they crossed 50 runs, Oman had lost 8 wickets. The captain, Jatinder Singh (1 run), and opener, Aamir Kaleem (13 runs), were sent back to the pavilion by part-time spinner Sam Ayub. Meanwhile, Mohammad Nadeem (3 runs) and Hammad Mirza (27 runs) were dismissed by chinaman bowler Sufiyan Muqeem. Sufiyan Mahmood (1 run) was taken out by left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz, while Vinayak Shukla was run out for 2 runs.

Fast bowler Faheem Ashraf caught Zakaria Islam (0 runs) out behind the wicket. Shaheen Afridi bowled out Faisal Shah (1 run), making Oman's score 50/8. Faheem Ashraf then bowled Hasnain Shah (1 run) to give Oman their ninth blow.

Spinners Claimed a Total of 6 Wickets

From the Oman side, Shakeel Ahmed was the last wicket to fall. For Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Sam Ayub each took two wickets. Shahin Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz also picked up one wicket each. Overall, 6 of Oman's wickets fell to spinners.

Muhammad Haris Scored a Fifty

Winning the toss, Pakistan decided to bat first but did not have the best start as they lost Sam Ayub in the very first over without scoring, out on Faisal Shah's delivery. Then, Sahibzada Farhan took charge along with wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Haris. The duo partnered for 85 runs for the second wicket. During this time, Haris hit a fifty off 32 balls. Farhan also played some excellent shots. Aamir Kaleem broke this partnership by dismissing Farhan (29 runs).

Then Aamir Kaleem struck on consecutive balls to dismiss Mohammad Haris and captain Salman Ali Agha. Haris scored 66 runs in 43 balls, which included 7 fours and 3 sixes. Meanwhile, Salman couldn't open his account. Hassan Nawaz was also out after scoring 9 runs, taking Pakistan's score to 120/5. From there, Mohammad Nawaz (19 runs) and Fakhar Zaman (unbeaten 23 runs) put together valuable innings to steer Pakistan to a respectable score. From Oman's side, Aamir Kaleem and Faisal Shah took three wickets each.
