Turkey has delivered a new battleship to Pakistan, gearing up for sea trials. The Pakistani Navy will incorporate it as part of the Milgem-Class Corvettes, named PNS Babur. Crafted at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard, the vessel represents a significant upgrade to the naval fleet.

Pakistan plans to construct four of these warships, with three currently in production and one ready for sea trials. This multi-purpose corvette boasts a displacement of 2,888 tons and spans 356.11 feet in length, with a beam measuring 48.7 feet, sailing at speeds between 50 and 57 km/hr.

The PNS Babur's range extends to 6,500 kilometers, equipped with a sophisticated combat management system. Additionally, it's outfitted with four types of radar systems, ready to alert of impending dangers from enemy missiles, ships, aircraft, submarines, and threats. It also features a hull-mounted sonar system.

This battleship is armed with 12 Albatros NG missiles for surface-to-air assaults, as part of its anti-air warfare capabilities. It also houses two triple cell missile launchers and 6 P-282 anti-ship missiles for anti-surface warfare.

Specialized weapons for anti-submarine warfare include lightweight Mark 32 torpedoes in 2x3 tubes. The vessel also mounts a 76mm Oto Melara naval gun, a 35mm CIWS, and two 25mm remote weapon stations. Additionally, it is equipped with a decoy system to evade enemy missiles, rockets, and torpedoes.

A stealth hangar on the warship can accommodate an anti-submarine helicopter, which could potentially be the AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat. Following the PNS Babur, Pakistan plans to produce further warships, named Khaibar, Badr, and Tariq, with the first two constructed in Turkey and the remaining to be built in Karachi.
