Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, declared on Friday in parliament that Trump's 20-point proposal to end the ongoing Israeli conflict in Gaza does not align with the resolution crafted by Muslim countries.

Dar emphasized that the Pakistani Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, along with leaders of other Muslim nations, had originally supported a different resolution. This alteration has sparked public discontent towards Shahbaz Sharif’s government.

Addressing the public's anger, Dar clarified, 'I've made it clear that these 20 points, publicly presented by Trump, are not ours. They don't match our draft, and some changes have been made.'

In a TV interview earlier this week, Dar reiterated that the Gaza Peace Plan was an American initiative, not a draft prepared by Pakistan.

Speaking with Pakistan’s Geo News network, Dar stated, 'This isn’t our document. There are crucial points we disagree with, which require attention. Without addressing these issues, we cannot accept it.'

Dar outlined Pakistan’s priorities as an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the prevention of bloodshed, ensuring the supply of humanitarian aid, and stopping forced displacements.

Dar’s comments emerged as Prime Minister Sharif faced widespread anger across Pakistan for supporting Trump’s proposal. This proposal included a condition for the return of all hostages (both alive and deceased) within 72 hours of the ceasefire.

Prime Minister Sharif supported Trump's Gaza Peace Plan, tweeting, 'I am confident that President Trump is ready to assist in transforming this crucial and urgent agreement into reality.'

However, the Pakistani public reacted with fury towards Sharif’s tweet, viewing this stance as divergent from Pakistan’s long-standing policy on Palestine. On social media, he faced accusations of appeasing the US, weakening Pakistan's stance on Palestine, and siding with Israel. Critics argue the proposal favors Israeli interests over Palestinians.

On September 30, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan issued a joint statement supporting Trump's Gaza Peace Plan. Yet alterations were made to the draft presented to Hamas.

Following this revelation, Hamas demanded changes to the draft's terms, and Qatar, playing a significant role in negotiations, also called for new discussions on several points. Hamas has yet to officially respond to Trump's Gaza Peace Plan, suggesting the proposal may be set aside pending revisions.
