On Tuesday, in Pakistan's Balochistan province, the insurgent group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) seized the Jaffer Express. With over 400 passengers onboard, including many military personnel, local reports indicated that security forces have freed at least 155 hostages, with 27 terrorists eliminated in the rescue operation. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's advisor, Rana Sanaullah, has been making unfounded allegations against India. To cover up the government's inability to prevent this train hijacking by rebels, he baselessly claims that Baloch insurgents are receiving support from India.
During an interview with Pakistan's Dawn TV, the anchor questioned Sanaullah about potential support from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for the BLA, residing in Afghanistan, and any possible connections between them.
In response, Sanaullah stated, 'This is the work of India; there is no doubt about it. India is aiding them, and they have a safe haven in Afghanistan, from where they coordinate all actions. These are enemies of Pakistan, without any political agenda but to engage in murder and looting.'
When asked about the military excesses in Balochistan, Sanaullah remarked, 'Such operations have long occurred in Balochistan. The difference now is that they've found refuge in Afghanistan, along with significant financial backing and logistical facilities for cross-border operations.'
Sanaullah further elaborated, 'Before the Taliban's arrival in Afghanistan, these facilities didn't exist. The current situation in Pakistan is attributable to the Afghan government’s support of these elements, providing them resources and strategic locations for planning attacks.'
Terrorists Plant Suicide Bombers Among Innocent Hostages
The Pakistani military faces significant challenges in its rescue operation. Reports suggest that the BLA has placed suicide bombers among the hostages, complicating the rescue mission as the security forces exercise extreme caution.
Concurrently, the Baloch Army released a video of the train hijacking, showing the train proceeding at a normal pace until an explosion halts it, with BLA militants visible in nearby hills.
This hijacking occurred at 9 AM, with Jaffer Express departing for Peshawar. It was supposed to reach Sibi station by 1:30 PM but was attacked near the Machh tunnel in Bolan.
