Offensive Remarks Against Mayawati on Social Media, FIR Filed Against SP Leader

A controversy has arisen over alleged objectionable comments made on social media about Bahujan Samaj Party leader and former Chief Minister Mayawati. Following a complaint by BSP officials, a case has been registered at Krishna Nagar Kotwali against Shreya Yadav, who claims to be an active member of the Samajwadi Party. She has over 50,000 followers on Facebook. In response, the police have begun an investigation, stating that the comments have hurt the sentiments of the party activists.

According to reports, the Cantt Assembly President from the Alam Bagh’s Garhi Kanora area submitted a written complaint to the police station. He mentioned that on Monday evening, a party meeting was taking place at the home of Cantt Assembly in-charge, Devesh Kumar Gautam, in Damodar Nagar. During the meeting, some activists were browsing Facebook when they noticed an offensive comment made from an ID named Shreya Yadav.

The complaint alleges that derogatory and insulting language was used against Mayawati in that comment. The comment sparked anger among the activists present at the meeting. According to the officials, such language is an insult to a senior leader and has hurt the sentiments of those associated with the party.

The president of the cantt assembly stated that everyone present at the meeting collectively decided to undertake legal proceedings. A formal complaint was lodged at the Krishna Nagar police station referencing the Facebook comment, and a demand was made for action against the individual responsible, aiming to curb such objectionable remarks on social media.
