The Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of Delhi, kicks off the entry process for nursery, kindergarten, and Class 1 in top private schools starting November 28. What are the important dates for the nursery admission process?

Who benefits from reservations?
This year, 25% reservation is provided for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and disabled children. A separate list will be issued for these categories.

Is buying a prospectus necessary?
No, parents are not required to purchase a school prospectus. Schools may only charge a registration fee up to Rs 25.

How is a tie between applicants resolved?
In case of a tie, schools will conduct a lottery. This can be done electronically or by drawing lots in the presence of parents. The entire process will be filmed for transparency.

Is there a minimum seat requirement for entry-level classes?
The number of seats for entry-level classes (Nursery, KG, Class 1) cannot be less than the minimum number given over the last three years at the same level.
How many seats are available for admission?
Currently, admissions will be conducted for only 75% of the seats. Once the 75% occupancy for the general category is filled, schools will start the admission process for the remaining 25%. The Directorate of Education will soon issue a notice with more details on this matter.
