Disha Patani house shootout Bareilly:

The shooting outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani's house in Bareilly shook the entire city. Initially thought to be a minor intimidation, the case soon pointed towards the notorious gang of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar. This saga began with the controversial statement of Aniruddhacharya and soon escalated to a social media stir, turning into a fierce battle between gangsters and the police. Unveil the full narrative of the Bareilly shootout and the Ghaziabad encounter.

During preacher Aniruddhacharya's discourse, a devotee asked him about marriage, expressing fear towards the institution. Maharaj's reply led to a backlash, particularly among women. A subsequent apology video did little to quell the uproar.

Nobody anticipated that this video would ignite a shootout and culminate in an encounter claiming two lives. Following the video's release, akin to numerous women across the nation, Disha Patani's sister, Khushboo Patani, issued a condemnatory video on July 30. This video swiftly went viral.

Twelve days post the video, on September 12, at about 3:30 am, an eerie incident occurred outside Khushboo and Disha Patani's house in Bareilly. Two individuals on a motorcycle fired shots in the air towards the house boundary wall and fled. The sound of gunfire reached inside the house, whereupon the family, emerging outside, discovered two spent shells. They promptly alerted the police. At this point, the identity of the shooters or their motive remained unknown.

Within 24 hours of the shootout, a social media post unveiled the truth. It disclosed that the shooters were dispatched to Disha Patani's house because Lawrence Bishnoi's gang members, Goldie Brar and Rohit Godara, were aggrieved by Khushboo Patani's statement against Aniruddhacharya, previously mentioned in this news piece.

As soon as this post surfaced and implicated Lawrence's gang, the UP police sprung into action. Notably, Disha Patani's father, Jagdish Patani, is a retired DSP of the UP police, and her elder sister, Khushboo, has served as an officer in the army. At the time of the attack, Disha was in Mumbai, while her sister, mother, and father were at home. The UP police initiated a manhunt for the shooters.

Having previously intimidated several people by gunfire at locations such as Salman Khan's house in Mumbai and the murder of his friend Baba Siddiqui, this was the first instance where Lawrence's gang's shooters fired shots outside someone's house in UP. Besides the UP police, the STF had become active, armed with CCTV footage showing the shooters.

In the quest to track the shooters, the UP police and STF scrutinized footage from 1,320 CCTV cameras overnight on September 12 and the following morning, September 13. Most of these cameras belonged to the traffic police. From these feeds, crucial information about the shooters emerged. It was discovered that the two shooters responsible for firing at Disha Patani's house on September 12 were named Ravindra and Arun. Ravindra hailed from Rohtak, while Arun was from Sonepat, both associated with Rohit Godara and Goldie Brar's gang, known as professional shooters.

According to the police, Ravindra arrived in Bareilly as early as September 9, staying at the Preet Palace Hotel near the Roadways bus stand. Meanwhile, Arun lodged at a guest house near the railway station, merely two kilometers from Disha Patani's house. As soon as their identities and locations were determined, the UP police and STF launched a pursuit. Supporting this operation, Delhi police's Special Cell and Haryana police also contributed to tracking down the shooters.

On the evening of September 17, 2025, during routine checks in the Tronica City area of Ghaziabad, two boys on a motorcycle drew suspicion, attempting to flee upon noticing police barricades. Suspicion prompted the police to give chase, resulting in a 15-minute pursuit exchanging about 25 to 30 shots. The bikers reportedly fired at the police, striking their jeep with four bullets.

Ultimately, both bikers succumbed to police gunfire, later identified as Ravindra and Arun. At the site, the police recovered a Glock and a Zigana pistol along with several rounds of ammunition. The police alleged that the white Apache motorcycle they tried to escape on was the same used in the shooting at Disha Patani's house on September 12.

However, counterclaims surfaced from Arun's brother, who denounced the encounter as fake, asserting that neither individual seen in the CCTV footage from Disha Patani’s house was his brother. Arun’s brother, Ankur, contended that his brother, weakened by diabetes, bore a yellow complexion, contradicting the shooter’s appearance. Ankush further claimed that even post-encounter, his brother's yellow complexion remained evident, raising questions on the legitimacy of the police action.

While Ankur and his parents questioned the encounter's authenticity, a social media post by Rohit Godara issued threats, vowing retribution for those involved in the encounter.

In another revelation, a firing incident allegedly occurred at Disha Patani's house on the night of September 11, preceding the one on September 12. These shooters were identified as Nakul and Vijay from Baghpat. The police, confirming their identification, continued to pursue them.

Following the September 11 incident, Nakul and Vijay conducted reconnaissance leading up to the September 12 shooting executed by Arun and Ravindra. The police have mounted a rigorous search for Nakul and Vijay, conducting raids in pursuit.

Over the past eight years in UP, more than 14,000 encounters have transpired, resulting in 239 criminal fatalities and approximately 21,000 arrests. Notably, nearly 9,500 criminals sustained leg injuries, specifically calf muscle wounds, during these encounters.

In recent times, as Lawrence's gang attempts to extend its reach beyond Punjab and Haryana into various states, it underscores significant questions on law enforcement's effectiveness and strategy. Although Lawrence has been incarcerated for years in Ahmedabad's Sabarmati jail, his shooters' unabated operations in diverse cities reveal an unbroken connection between him and his enforcers that neither police nor jail staff seem able to sever.

News of Goldie Brar purportedly residing in Canada continues, though Lawrence’s gang unabashedly issues coercive threats through social media. Despite a government order hindering Lawrence's transfer from Ahmedabad's Sabarmati jail or placement into other states' custody, his seamless coordination within the gang from behind bars persists unabated.

'Aaj Tak' recently uncovered images of two on-the-run shooters in relation to this case. These were circulated as police pursued their arrest, targeting names like Nakul and Vijay. The police assert these two, reportedly minors, managed reconnaissance for the September 11 firing at Disha Patani’s residence. Additionally, on Friday, a fifth accused related to this case experienced a 'half encounter' by the police.
