The drowning incident of an engineer in Noida Sector 150 is escalating concerns over the negligence of Noida Authority. Locals and the victim's family accuse a lack of proper safety measures, suggesting the tragedy could have been avoided.

When officials were approached for comments on the authority's stance, satisfactory answers were not provided. Noida Authority's ACEO Satish Pal stated an ongoing investigation. Preliminary findings highlighted a junior engineer's (JE) negligence, leading to his dismissal. Additionally, it was revealed that a team is examining whether reflectors or other safety signs were present.

ACEO Satish Pal also stated that if any previous complaints or applications were made but not acted upon, they would also be investigated. Should more facts emerge during the inquiry, further action will be taken based on those findings.

Officials Evaded Direct Answers

Meanwhile, Noida Authority's Public Health Department's sanitation in-charge, Rajesh Kumar, arrived for inspection with his team. When questioned about the incident, he stated his team's focus was on inspecting drains and roads, leaving other questions to relevant authorities.

Later in the evening, SDM Sadar Gautam Buddha Nagar also conducted an inspection. SDM Sadar Ashutosh Gupta remarked on the incident's severe and unfortunate nature, refraining from further comments. He assured that a complete investigation is underway, and necessary safety measures will be enacted.

The incident has stirred public scrutiny of the administration and Noida Authority's operations, with mounting demands for accountability and safety assurances.
