Today, recognized as a prominent politician, Nitin Nabin was as humble and sociable in his childhood as he is now. His neighbor and long-time friend Neeraj Kumar Sinha shares that despite changes in time and position, Nitin's demeanor hasn't shifted a bit.
Neeraj recounted a captivating childhood story that highlights Nitin Nabin's strategic mindset. Our homes were next to each other, and he always displayed a humble nature. We spent countless afternoons playing cricket together.
Once, when senior players were hitting sixes, Nitin devised a plan. He told Neeraj, "I'll bowl a slow ball and when they attempt a six, you must catch it." This childhood strategy is evident in his current political and working style, executing every task with a well-laid plan.
As kids, we gathered at a designated place every evening, regardless of where we lived. Cricket was Nitin Nabin's favorite game. Often, we played on streets until a neighbor lady would shoo us away. Those were truly good times.
Neeraj mentioned, "There hasn’t been any change in Nitin Nabin’s character. He’s a minister today but still answers friends’ calls in one go. If busy, he ensures to call back. A few days ago at Bihar Bhavan, he recognized me from afar and embraced me. It didn’t feel as if we hadn’t met for years. Every meeting is filled with warmth."
According to Neeraj Sinha, Nitin Nabin's greatest strength lies in his simplicity. It’s no surprise that people in Bihar regard him not as a politician but as a familial son or brother.
Neeraj shared an emotional and unique anecdote of Nitin Nabin’s connection with his father. In those days without mobile phones, when Nitin Nabin needed to remind his late father, Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha, of a task, he would write a note and tuck it into his father's pocket wrapped in a piece of brick. As soon as his father felt the pocket's weight, he would remember the task. This was his distinctive style.
