A significant development has emerged from Rampur. In the PAN card case, Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan have been convicted by the court. Abdullah faced charges of creating deceit to become a legislator, despite being under the minimum age requirement for candidacy.
What Are the Allegations?
According to the accusations, Abdullah obtained a second PAN card to inflate his age, implicating Azam Khan in orchestrating the plot. After examining all facets of the case, the court found both Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam Khan guilty.
Supreme Court Rejected the Plea to Quash FIR
On December 6, Abdullah Azam faced a setback from the Supreme Court. The court dismissed his petition to quash the FIR filed under allegations of using false documents for a passport and holding two PAN cards.
The bench noted a lack of substantial legal grounds to annul the FIR, nor any cause to intervene in legal proceedings. Abdullah Azam allegedly used incorrect birth dates and forged documents for passport procurement.
Azam Khan in Deeper Trouble
Seeking relief, he approached the Supreme Court, but his plea was rejected. The court has now found both Abdullah Azam and his father, Azam Khan, guilty, following Azam's recent release from prison.
