An astonishing case of spousal murder has emerged from Nizamabad district in Telangana, where a wife, alongside her lover and hired assassins, executed the dastardly act. Under police interrogation, the accused wife admitted to plotting her husband's murder to collect an insurance amount exceeding 20 million rupees.

This shocking incident relates to the murder of Palnati Ramesh, a resident of Borgam village in Makloor Mandal, Nizamabad district. About 13 years ago, Ramesh married Soumya from Jannepalli village in Navipet Mandal in a love marriage. While Ramesh was employed at a private finance company, Soumya worked as a teacher at a private school in Nizamabad.

First Attempt: Unsuccessful Road Accident, Then Suffocation at Home

According to the police, Soumya developed an illicit relationship with Dilip, a PET teacher working at her school. When Ramesh discovered this affair, he protested several times. Subsequently, Soumya and Dilip began plotting to eliminate Ramesh from their path.

Following their plan, Dilip contacted his relative Abhishek, a resident of Madapur village in Makloor Mandal. Abhishek introduced Dilip to hired killer Jitendra. Through Jitendra, three more people were enlisted in the murder plot. Soumya pawned her ring to provide an advance of 35,000 rupees.

In August 2025, the hired killers attempted to ram Ramesh's bike with a car while he was traveling from Armoor to Nizamabad. Ramesh narrowly escaped and lodged a complaint at the Makloor police station. A case was registered following this incident.

Wife, Lover, and Hired Killers Arrested, One Suspect on the Run

After that failed attempt, Soumya and Dilip sought another opportunity. On the night of December 19, after dinner, Soumya gave Ramesh water laced with ten sleeping pills. Once he fell into a deep sleep, she called Dilip. Unable to reach the hired killers, Dilip arrived at Borgam village with Abhishek. Together, they suffocated Ramesh with a towel and a pillow.

Attempting to cover up the crime, Soumya alleged it was a heart attack and carried out the last rites. However, suspicion arose with Ramesh's brother Kethir, who resides in Israel. From abroad, he filed a complaint with the Makloor police, leading to an exhumation and a second post-mortem on December 24 that confirmed the murder.

Police Intensify Search for Fugitive Suspect

The police have apprehended Soumya, her lover Dilip, Abhishek, and members of the hired killer gang, placing them under judicial custody. However, one suspect, Mohsin, remains at large, and efforts to capture him continue. The investigation revealed that Ramesh had an insurance policy exceeding 20 million rupees, which motivated the entire conspiracy.
