In a brazen incident, the wife of retired IAS Devendra Nath Dubey was murdered during a home invasion in Lucknow. The daylight robbery and murder in the affluent colony has caused shockwaves. The police have deployed four teams to investigate, even as the robbers took the CCTV DVR with them, leaving behind a handful of vital clues.
At house number 20/31 in Indiranagar sector 20, retired Uttar Pradesh IAS officer Devendra Dubey lived with his wife Mohini Dubey. Retiring from the commissioner post in 2009, they resided there alone, as their two sons Prateek and Pranjal lived elsewhere with their own families.

According to reports, around 7:00 AM on this fateful Saturday, Devendra Dubey left to play golf with his friends. The milkman, Salman, confirmed seeing Madam Dubey at 7:10 AM. By the time Mr. Dubey returned around 10:00 AM, the doors were open, and his wife lay near the kitchen and storeroom. Typically, a maid would arrive in the morning, but today she was on leave, and the incident was only discovered when Mr. Dubey returned home.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Ghazipur police along with DCP East and Joint Police Commissioner of Crime, Aakash Kulhari, arrived at the scene. Forensic and canine squads were summoned. The household staff, ranging from the milkman to the driver, gardener, and maid, were all interrogated. Preliminary questioning over four hours suggests that the assailants had thoroughly scouted the house beforehand. Authorities currently state that they have uncovered significant leads and expect to crack the case within 24 hours.
