The baby suffocated to death after being accidentally pinned under the bed due to parental negligence while asleep. This misfortune has cast a pall of gloom over the family and the entire village.
Breath Stilled by Suffocation in Bed
It's reported that a couple from Sihali Jagir village in the Gajraula police station area lost their 23-day-old infant. The incident occurred on a Sunday night. The baby's life was tragically cut short as it suffocated when trapped beneath the parents while they slept.
The couple was unaware of when their newborn was pinned down and stopped breathing. They only realized something was wrong when the child did not show any movement and rushed in a panicked state to the Gajraula Community Health Center (CHC).
Doctor Confirms Death, Tension Between Couple
Dr. Yogendra Singh, the officer in charge at CHC Gajraula, pronounced the infant dead. Confirmation of the death led to an argument between the couple, blaming each other for the tragedy. According to the doctor, such incidents tend to increase in the cold season, urging parents of newborns to stay more alert.
Home Without Legal Action
Despite the heart-breaking occurrence, the couple, after a bout of argument, decided to return home without any legal proceedings. This incident has left the village in shock and it has become the talk of the area. Doctors advise all parents to pay more attention and exercise heightened caution with young children.
