The woman who lost her sister-in-law in the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station narrated the horror of the incident. She was traveling from Sangam Vihar, Delhi to Prayagraj and expressed that upon reaching the station, the chaos was terrifying. The crowd was uncontrollable, and there was not even space to stand on the platform.
She explained that they were contemplating leaving the platform and heading back home, but chaos rapidly ensued. Her sister-in-law was with them, but her hand slipped from hers and she was caught in the crowd. Despite their attempts by calling her with cries of, ‘Get up, child!’ foam was coming from her mouth, indicating her passing.

She described how they were walking hand in hand through the station when the stampede occurred, causing her sister-in-law to get separated and left behind. A family member managed to pull her to safety, but it was a harrowing experience, feeling crushed and barely able to breathe for half an hour.
'Negligence in Management Led to This Tragedy'
The eyewitness woman accused that there were no adequate measures to control the crowd at New Delhi Railway Station. In total, 12 of them ventured there, with some arriving earlier. They were simply advised to stick to the sides, but if they had been informed about the overwhelming crowd density, they would have never dared to come.

She claims there was no administration present; the RPF personnel were nowhere to be seen. Had there been proper management, this incident could have been averted. She lost her mobile phone and money. Many others succumbed before her eyes. Observers have raised serious questions about the safety protocols at the Delhi railway station, as the reckless crowd and the railway administration’s negligence have once again cost many their lives.
