The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled new dates for the UGC NET examination. The tests are now scheduled to be conducted online from August 21 to September 4. Originally, the UGC NET examinations scheduled for the 18th of this month had to be cancelled due to potential paper leaks, prompting a reschedule by the Ministry of Education.
NTA released the notification of exam dates on late Friday evening, announcing the schedules for NCET 2024, Joint CSIR-UGC NET, and UGC NET June 2024 Cycle*. All the examinations will be conducted online.
- NCET 2024 will be held on July 10, 2024.- Joint CSIR-UGC NET will take place between July 25 and July 27.- UGC NET June 2024 Cycle will be conducted from August 21 to September 4.

UGC Cancels NET Exam Following Complaints
Upon receiving reports from the Ministry of Home Affairs' Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre's National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit (NCTAU), the University Grants Commission (UGC) was alerted about potential irregularities during the offline examination held on June 18. Subsequently, a decision was made to cancel and reconduct the examination. Investigations into the irregularity are currently being carried out by the CBI.
The Ministry of Education had organized the UGC-NET June 2024 exam on June 18, 2024, across various cities in the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) held the exam in two shifts employing the OMR (pen and paper) mode. The following day, on June 19, 2024, the UGC received intel from the NCTAU regarding foul play in the exam proceedings.
Over 1.1 Million Candidates Participated in the Exam
The UGC NET June 2024 exam was hosted across 317 cities at 1,205 exam centers nationwide, with a total of 1,121,225 candidates taking part. The examination held on June 18 had its first shift from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and a second shift from 3 PM to 6 PM. NTA managed to conduct the exam for all 83 subjects on the same day.
