After approximately 4-5 days, the Nepal border has once again opened for the general public. The decision was made after meeting the Prime Minister of Nepal. Although the movement of large vehicles has not yet fully resumed, people are able to cross the border with small vehicles by showing their Aadhaar card or identity document.
Due to recent political events in Nepal, the border was closed for a few days. During this period, the movement of large vehicles, especially commercial vehicles, was halted. In fact, amidst violence in Nepal, a warehouse office was set ablaze, destroying numerous documents. This stopped paperwork and tax submissions, which is why large vehicles are still unable to cross the border.
Though currently, the situation for the common people is gradually appearing to normalize. Daily, numerous people are now able to go to Nepal. Small vehicles, such as private cars, auto-rickshaws, and other small vehicles, are crossing the border in limited numbers. People say that although the situation is not completely normal, this step is a relief for them.
Businesses and local residents near the border are hopeful that soon, the transit of commercial vehicles will begin, ensuring a smooth supply of daily necessities and a gradual revival of economic transactions between the two countries.

With the reopening of the Nepal border, there are also indications that political stability is gradually being restored. Both the public and traders are now hoping that within the coming weeks, the border crossing process will be fully normalized, and large vehicles will also be able to travel to Nepal without interruptions. Meanwhile, security forces in the border regions remain alert and are conducting checks on those crossing.
