A patient, appearing semi-nude, is seen dragging himself across the floor. In response, Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak has taken prompt action, ordering a thorough investigation into the incident. Additionally, a report from the attending doctors has been requested.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak tweeted expressing his concern over the disturbing condition of the patient, noting the viral image. As a result, the director of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Hospital (Civil) has been mandated to provide clarification and a detailed report on the developments by August 24, 2022.
Pathak emphasized that there should be no negligence in the treatment of any unclaimed patients. Doctors are urged to step forward and ensure immediate medical attention. Strict actions will be enforced against any medical personnel found neglecting such patients.
Meanwhile, R.P. Singh, the director of the Civil Hospital, reported that the patient, allegedly abandoned at the hospital's gate, is unable to communicate. Medical care is currently being administered, and CCTV footage is under review to trace who left the patient. Efforts are also being made to locate the patient's relatives, although the patient is unable to provide any information.
