The CBI's operation in the NEET paper leak case has sprung into action. After obtaining the report and evidence from Bihar Police's Economic Offences Unit (EOU), the team has conducted raids in multiple locations. Two suspects, Chintu and Mukesh, are being interrogated, with the potential to unearth the network behind the leak. Additionally, the team intends to employ network mapping techniques to penetrate deeper into the issue.

What is Network Mapping?

It is a technical approach that aids law enforcement in the investigation process and in capturing criminals more efficiently. Network mapping is utilized in several ways, including:

Revealing relationships between suspects and organizations:

Authorities may use network mapping to connect data from social media, call records, and financial transactions to uncover associations between individuals and groups.

Analyzing the crime scene:

Data and evidence from the crime scene are compiled to analyze the incident thoroughly using network mapping.

Combating human and drug trafficking:

Network mapping is instrumental in identifying networks involved in crimes like human and drug trafficking and aiding in their disruption.

Witness and victim protection:

Network mapping is also applied to identify threats towards witnesses and victims and mitigate them, always respecting the rights to privacy and only using legally obtained data.

Besides network mapping, police also utilize crime mapping, traffic mapping, incident mapping, and online crime mapping systems to catch and curb criminal activities.

How will the CBI conduct network mapping of suspects?

Sources indicate that the CBI, in the paper leak case, will scrutinize the locations and connections of all arrested suspects from the past six months, revealing every hidden detail and contact. The focus is on everything from the National Testing Agency (NTA) to printing agencies and bank branches involved.

Why remand only Chintu and Mukesh?

Among the 18 suspects, Chintu and Mukesh are considered key within Sanjeev Mukhiya's gang, hence their deep knowledge is seen as pivotal in solving the case. They might have critical information about a hidden professor and Mukhiya's whereabouts and connections with the Oasis school.
