Gang Leader Sanjeev Mukhiya on the Police Radar
The ongoing investigation has brought to light that NEET exam papers were first electronically sent to Sanjeev Mukhiya by a professor. Patna and Ranchi's MBBS students were involved in the scandal as solvers, providing answers to the candidates who had paid for them. The EOU is intensifying raids to apprehend the paper leak mastermind, Sanjeev Mukhiya. Police in Patna, Nalanda, Gaya, and Nawada are on high alert, with searches being conducted in Mukhiya's ancestral village in Shahpur, Nagarnausa. The police are also proceeding with the process of declaring Mukhiya absconding and seizing his property. Interrogations with Mukhiya's close associates are currently underway.
Paper Leaked During Transportation
The Bihar Police investigation indicates that exam papers were gathered from printing firms at various NTA nodal stations across states and transported to local banks before distribution to exam centers before the exam. Insiders involved in the transportation of the NEET UG exam papers reportedly leaked them. The suspect, Amit Anand, acquired a paper during transportation and, together with accomplice Sikandar, orchestrated the entire scam.
A Professor Mailed the NEET Paper to Sanjeev Mukhiya
Sanjeev Mukhiya received the NEET exam paper from a professor on his mobile. MBBS students stationed at the Learn Play School and Boys' Hostel in Patna and Ranchi acted as solvers for the leaked paper, writing down the answers for the candidates who paid for the privilege. Mukhiya had rented a house from Prabhat Ranjan to set up the operation. Ranjan is a former block chief of Daniawan, and his wife has also served as a village head. The EOU has interrogated him as well. Sanjeev Mukhiya is reportedly an employee of the Noorsarai Horticultural College.
25 Candidates Housed in a Rural Area of Patna
The crowding in central Patna was avoided by housing 25 candidates in a rural house in Khemnichak, which would not raise suspicions. This area is right next to the Patna bypass. Candidates staying at the Learn Play School and Boys' Hostel were provided with the NEET question paper and answers on the morning of May 5 so that they could memorize the contents. Later in the day, they were dropped off at their respective centers for the NEET examination. However, given the late delivery of the papers and answers, the candidates had a limited time to memorize them.
