Ayushi Patel, claiming a brilliant score of 715 in NEET, becomes the focal point of an ongoing debate. A new twist unveils as the National Testing Agency is reported to have released Ayushi's result using an incorrect application number, which only displayed a score of 355. This raises the question: if Ayushi's correct application number and her answer key indicate a score of 715, how was the result published under a wrong registration number?
The Reality Comes to Light
Ayushi Patel from Lucknow asserts that initially, her result was withheld by NTA. Subsequently, upon her email inquiry, NTA responded with a picture of her alleged torn OMR sheet. As the issue garnered national attention, Priyanka Gandhi of the opposition Congress party tweeted about it. Meanwhile, a user claimed that Ayushi Patel's result had been released.
On investigating, it was disclosed that Lucknow's NEET aspirant Ayushi Patel's result was uploaded by the National Testing Agency under an incorrect application number. According to Ayushi, her admit card displayed the application number 240411840741. NTA had initially declined to release her result citing a torn OMR sheet. However, when the application number 240411340741 was entered, her result was publicly disclosed, showing her score to be 355 – a stark discrepancy from the 715 Ayushi claims she has as per her answer key. NTA has not yet responded to this discrepancy.
The Full Story
On the evening of June 4, when Ayushi checked the online result, it was not published. According to the answer key, she had only one wrong answer, which would result in a remarkable score of 715 out of 720. After contacting NTA by email, she was informed about the torn OMR sheet.
Ayushi was baffled as to how her OMR sheet could possibly be torn. She had filled out the OMR sheet with great caution during the examination. The personnel at the examination center also collected her OMR sheet with stringent scrutiny. Her uncle, a lawyer in the High Court bench in Lucknow, was contacted. He immediately sent three legal and seven notices to NTA via email on June 4, requesting Ayushi's OMR sheet. The family was shocked when they received a response from NTA 24 hours later.
An OMR Sheet Found Torn
The OMR sheet sent by email was indeed torn. Ayushi's filled-in circles were clearly visible, prompting her demand that she should not be held accountable for the torn sheet and that her result should not be withheld. Ancient this claim, Ayushi filed a petition in the High Court bench of Lucknow. The High Court's decision is pending, and until then, Ayushi has requested that the current NEET result process be paused.
NTA's Statement on Viral Video
NTA claims that they never sent any mail to the student with the photo of a torn OMR sheet, refuting Ayushi's allegations. The situation has grown more complex since the release of results under the incorrect registration number.
