The revised scorecards for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024 have not been released yet. Following the Supreme Court's final verdict, candidates are eagerly waiting for the new scorecards as their ranks may change. According to media reports, NTA may release the final scorecards today.

Why the Revised Scorecard is Being Released

Changes in the merit list were required following the Supreme Court's directive regarding an ambiguous Physics question. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced on July 23 that the revised results would be released within two days. The Supreme Court instructed the National Testing Agency to accept the answers provided by IIT Delhi’s expert team as correct for the Physics question paper, affecting the results of four lakh students.

On Monday, the Supreme Court asked IIT Delhi’s expert team to provide the correct answer for the ambiguous Physics question. Initially, NTA had accepted two options as correct answers due to discrepancies between old and new NCERT books, giving students grace marks accordingly. The Court clarified that two options cannot be considered correct for one question. This adjustment will affect the marks of approximately 4.2 lakh students who chose the previously accepted answer, reducing the number of top scorers from 61 to an estimated 17.
