The seat distribution formula within the NDA reportedly has left the Paras camp unhappy. Meanwhile, the Grand Alliance's leaders are in continuous talks with Paras's faction. The preference for Chirag within the NDA surfaced on March 13, leading Paras to consult with his MPs until late at night. It’s rumored that he is considering resigning from the Union Cabinet.
When Senior Minister and BJP leader from Bihar, Giriraj Singh, was asked about the seat sharing announcement, he said, 'There's no need to worry about Bihar. All will be revealed in due course.'
JD(U) to Contest 16 Seats Under Nitish’s Banner
Sources revealed that the NDA has resolved the long-standing suspense over seat sharing in Bihar, with consensus on HAM getting one seat, RLM one seat, and five seats including Hajipur for Chirag Paswan. Moreover, Nitish Kumar's JD(U) is likely to compete on 16 seats, while Pashupati Paras's party may not get any seats within the NDA.
Pashupati Paras Offered Governorship!
According to sources, BJP has offered Paras the governorship and a Bihar ministerial position to Samastipur MP Prince Raj. Prince Raj, cousin of Chirag Paswan, became an MP after winning a by-election post his father Ramchandra Paswan's demise. However, in 2021, the split in the LJP led Prince Raj to join Paras's camp. Following this decision, Paras is reportedly disgruntled and contemplating joining the Grand Alliance.
Crucial Meeting at JP Nadda's Residence
A significant meeting took place at the residence of BJP National President JP Nadda on Wednesday. It involved discussions on seat sharing between Chirag Paswan, JP Nadda, and Mangal Pandey.
