Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of Independence Day, praised the service spirit of the RSS from the ramparts of the Red Fort. PM Modi said, "Today, with great pride, I wish to mention that 100 years ago, an organization was born - the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Serving the nation for 100 years is a very proud and golden chapter."

PM Modi said that by taking an oath for nation-building through character building, the RSS pledged the welfare of Mother India for 100 years, and thousands of volunteers dedicated their lives to the welfare of the motherland.

PM Modi stated that the commitment, dedication, organization, and unmatched discipline that characterize the RSS make it one of the world's largest NGOs. He mentioned that it has a rich history of dedication spanning 100 years.

PM Modi expressed, "Today, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I respectfully remember all the volunteers who contributed to this 100-year journey of serving the nation. The country takes pride in this grand dedicated journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. This will continue to serve as inspiration."

It's noteworthy that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was established on Vijayadashami, September 27, 1925, in Nagpur by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. Its objective was to organize Hindu society, awaken national consciousness, and promote cultural nationalism.

Hedgewar initiated it as a volunteer organization emphasizing physical, intellectual, and spiritual development. RSS trained volunteers through branches, gradually extending its influence throughout India.
