Originally slated to be a brief 8-day journey, unforeseen technical challenges extended their stay to a 9-month epic in space. They embarked on their interstellar adventure on June 5, 2024, on Boeing's new Starliner crew capsule. In orbit, Wilmore and Williams spent a jaw-dropping 286 days, a staggering 278 days longer than planned.
