Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the full stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail and the Meerut Metro today. The 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' will commence operations from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut's Modipuram, offering India's swiftest semi-high-speed regional rapid train service starting from 6 PM. Accompanying this, Meerut's fastest metro will also become operational for the public.
The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail emphasizes women's empowerment, with approximately 80% of its driver staff being women. Travelers will take less than an hour to get from Delhi to Meerut. At the Sarai Kale Khan station, a multi-integrated transit system is developed, equipped with smart ticket vending machines and a QR code-based ticketing system.
