Travel from Delhi to Meerut in 55 Minutes with India's Fastest Semi High-Speed Train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the full stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail and the Meerut Metro today. The 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' will commence operations from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut's Modipuram, offering India's swiftest semi-high-speed regional rapid train service starting from 6 PM. Accompanying this, Meerut's fastest metro will also become operational for the public.

The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail emphasizes women's empowerment, with approximately 80% of its driver staff being women. Travelers will take less than an hour to get from Delhi to Meerut. At the Sarai Kale Khan station, a multi-integrated transit system is developed, equipped with smart ticket vending machines and a QR code-based ticketing system.

Looking towards future needs, the station accommodates six platforms for potential future connections to Alwar and Karnal. The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail showcases modern bullet train-esque features, reaching speeds up to 180 km/h with a fully digital driver console. Premium coach facilities include mobile and laptop charging ports, and blinds for sun protection.

Special coaches for women have been installed. Storage space, standing room, water bottle holders, magazine racks, and footrests enhance passenger experience. This service marks a significant step towards modern, faster transportation across the Delhi-NCR region.
