In a dramatic encounter in Muzaffarnagar, the police successfully terminated notorious dacoit Ajay, known as Ajayveer, who carried a bounty of Rs. 25,000 on his head. Alongside his takedown, officers recovered a German-manufactured 9mm pistol, a native firearm, cartridges, and looted jewelry accompanied by cash. Ajayveer faced around 20 charges and was a cunning member of the Vinod Gardaria gang.

On the late evening of Tuesday, intelligence reached Budhana Kotwali police about outlaws hiding in Jola village's forest area. Responding swiftly, the police encircled the forest and demanded their surrender. The criminals attempted an audacious escape by firing at the police.

In retaliation, the police launched a counterattack, during which Ajay, alias Ajayveer, was wounded. He was rushed by the police for medical attention where, despite efforts, doctors declared him deceased. The police seized a pistol, cartridges, and cash from the deceased criminal.

Earlier, another confrontation occurred between police and bandits in the Shahpur police jurisdiction where four criminals sustained gunshot injuries. Concurrently, a police sweep led to the apprehension of four more individuals, with reports suggesting that seven members of the gang evaded capture. Persistent police actions followed.

Recent dacoities had involved Shahpur Police, the Special Operations Group (SOG), and Mansoorpur police teams. A related encounter recently left four bandits injured, culminating in eight arrests with seven individuals still wanted. Persistent pressures led to discovering the trio's position on Tuesday. During checks, they aggressively attacked officers, prompting controlled police retaliation which left Ajayveer injured, ultimately succumbing at the hospital. Site inspections discovered a German pistol alongside a 315 bore firearm and multiple cartridges. Recovered items included looted jewelry and cash.
