Elon Musk, the visionary behind Tesla and SpaceX, has removed an X post claiming that U.S. President Donald Trump was named in files related to the sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein, whose death occurred on August 10, 2019. This move could indicate a truce between Musk and Trump after their recent heated exchange on social media. The post-deletion alignments follow Musk's resignation from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), amidst ongoing conflict with Trump over the 'Big Beautiful Bill', a spending bill and tax cut initiative.

On Thursday, Musk accused Trump of being named in sealed Epstein files, suggesting it's the underlying reason for their non-disclosure. In a now-deleted X post, Musk declared, 'It’s time to drop a big bombshell. Trump is in the Epstein files; that’s why they remain hidden. Have a great day, DJT!' Musk followed up with another post, advising followers to save it for future reference, asserting that the truth would eventually emerge.

Trump dismissed any interest in Musk during comments on Friday, claiming Musk has lost his mental balance. Musk had previously funded Trump’s presidential campaign following two assassination attempts against the Republican leader. In a post, Musk also mentioned that without his support, Trump wouldn't have triumphed in elections and the Republican presence in the Senate would dwindle to 50-60 members. Musk also labeled Trump ungrateful, while Trump counteracted by announcing a cut in the EV mandate, impacting Tesla directly.

What are the Epstein Files?

The Epstein Files consist of court documents, testimonies, and sealed records related to a sex trafficking ring. These files have triggered speculation for years, linking notable figures to Epstein while others remain hidden behind court orders. Musk's recent comments on Trump's alleged connection have reignited conspiracy theories, with many believing potentially sensitive files remain suppressed. In February, Attorney General Pam Bondi fueled the debate by urging the release of these files. However, most of the publicly disclosed information had already been accessed through court cases, public records, lawsuits, and FOIA requests.

Meanwhile, an old photo of Musk with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former associate, resurfaced online. Taken at a Hollywood event, the image sparked viral discussions despite Musk dismissing the interaction as a photobomb. In 2018, Epstein allegedly told a New York Times reporter he advised Musk, a claim Musk vehemently denied, insisting no personal or professional ties existed with Epstein.
