Galaxy Apartment Firing Case:

On April 14th, a shooting incident targeted the home of the superstar Salman Khan, located in Mumbai's Bandra district. Behind this attack, notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi's names have surfaced. Consequently, a lookout circular (LOC) has been issued against Anmol Bishnoi on Friday.

A Mumbai Police official provided further insight, revealing the potential detention of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently behind bars in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail. The police are also considering applying the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against him.

Anmol Bishnoi, the Firing Mastermind

Following the shooting at Salman Khan's home, Anmol Bishnoi took to social media to claim responsibility for the incident, with investigative findings confirming his involvement. Subsequently, Mumbai Police issued the LOC. Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi have been declared wanted in the case.

Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence's brother, resides in Canada and frequently travels to the United States. Interestingly, the IP address of the Facebook post through which he claimed the shooting was traced back to Portugal.

Police speculate the involvement of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in the Mumbai shooting, currently imprisoned in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail.

Arrest of Both Shooters and Weapon Supplier

It is reported that shooters Vikky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) from Bihar have been arrested in this high-profile case. Additionally, Sonu Kumar Subhash Chander Bishnoi (37) and Anuj Thapan (32), who supplied the weapons, were seized by the Crime Branch team from Punjab. They had provided two indigenous pistols and cartridges to Vikky and Sagar on March 15th.

According to the police, Sonu Bishnoi and Anuj Thapan, hailing from Fazilka near Lawrence Bishnoi's hometown in Punjab, were also accused in a previous shooting case registered in Gangapur, Punjab, along with Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi.

Lawrence Bishnoi's Criminal Portfolio

Lawrence Bishnoi is charged in over 50 criminal cases ranging from murder, attempted murder, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, robbery, and other offences. First incarcerated in 2014, he was arrested by Rajasthan Police following an encounter and subsequently housed in Bharatpur Jail. He later escaped from Mohali during a court hearing. In 2021, under a MCOCA-registered case, he was transferred to Tihar Jail. Before that, he was detained in Bathinda Jail, Punjab. In 2022, Punjab Police arrested him for the murder of Sidhu Moosewala.

Lawrence Imprisoned in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail

He was re-routed to Bathinda Jail and then, for security reasons, was shifted to Tihar's Mandoli branch in Delhi in 2023. Later that same year, he was apprehended by the Gujarat ATS in connection with a drug case and brought from Tihar to Gujarat, where he has since been imprisoned in Sabarmati Jail. The shooting at Salman Khan's residence has once again spotlighted Lawrence Bishnoi, raising speculation about a change in his jail custody. However, due to the central government's imposed section, such a transfer seems unlikely within the next year.
