The painful accident of a metro bridge slab collapse on LBS Road in the Mulund area of Mumbai has prompted the administration to take stringent measures. Following revelations of negligence, firm actions have been taken against the concerned officials and enterprises.

According to received information, Executive Engineer Satyajit Salve has been suspended due to charges of negligence. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde has taken the incident seriously and directed immediate and strict punitive measures.

A Fine of 5 Crore Rupees Imposed

The authority imposed a fine of 5 crore rupees on the construction company Milan Infra. Meanwhile, a penalty of 1 crore rupees has been levied on the project consultancy company Louis Berger. Officials emphasize that overlooking standards and safety lapses in construction activities will not be tolerated.

To provide relief to affected families, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced a financial aid of 15 lakh rupees to the families of the deceased. A detailed investigation into the matter is currently underway, and further actions against those responsible are anticipated.
