As the Indian Premier League fervor gripes the nation, the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup has been announced. The revelation left some players ecstatic, while others faced disappointment. All selected are currently showcasing their talents in the ongoing league.

The 15-member Indian T20 World Cup team is a testament to the raw talent witnessed in the IPL. Today, we spotlight the IPL teams contributing the most players and those unexpectedly overlooked.

Four teams - Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants - didn't see any players making the cut, despite strong contenders like Abhishek Sharma and T Natarajan from Sunrisers vying for a spot.

From Gujarat Titans, IPL 2023 Orange Cap holder and current captain Shubman Gill is named among the reserves, while Rinku Singh from Kolkata rides the bench. Kolkata's captain Shreyas Iyer was notably absent from the list of selections.

Lucknow Super Giants captained by KL Rahul were expected to secure a spot, yet they too faced a shutout. The talks around Ravi Bishnoi and the promising start by Mayank Yadav did not culminate in selection.

On a brighter note, Mumbai Indians boast four selections - Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah. Punjab Kings have the distinction of a sole selection. Meanwhile, Rajasthan and Delhi can celebrate three successes apiece, with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings settling for two each.

Reserve players usually step in due to an injury or unavailability of a team member. For the uninitiated, the traveling reserves journey alongside the squad. Remember, during the 2023 World Cup, Hardik Pandya's injury allowed Prasidh Krishna entry into the team subsequent to clearance by the Event Technical Committee, as Krishna joined in the middle of the tournament. The deadline for modifications is May 25th, after which ICC's committee clearance is required for any changes.
