UP News:

Mafia don Mukhtar Ansari lost his life to a heart attack in Banda Jail on a Thursday night. Earlier, his lawyer and family had accused the authorities of administering slow poison. An application was submitted to the MP-MLA court in Barabanki during the ambulance case hearing by Ansari's lawyer, stating the claim.

In his application dated March 21, Ansari wrote, 'On March 19, upon receiving a meal in Banda Jail, I felt as if I ingested a toxic substance...leading to pain in the veins of my hands and feet, eventually affecting my entire body. It seems imminent that my death will ensue. Previously, I was in complete health.'

Together with his lawyer, Ansari conveyed to the court in another application that roughly 40 days prior, a meal had been similarly poisoned. Consequently, the jail staff preparing and tasting the food fell ill along with Ansari, resulting in medical treatment for both.

The life threat in Banda Jail is real. The poison in the meal of March 19 was part of a conspiracy. Ansari's lawyer requested the formation of a medical board for treatment in the filed application to the Barabanki MP MLA court.

Note that 63-year-old Mukhtar Ansari, incarcerated for over two and a half years in Banda Jail, succumbed to a heart attack on a Thursday night. He was brought from the divisional prison to the Medical College, where a team of doctors attended to him. Later that night, at 10:30 PM, his death was officially announced.
