According to Afsana's relatives, it was a routine action of removing mangoes from the fridge that turned tragic when her mother adhered to the energized refrigerator. Seeing this, Afsana dashed to rescue her mother, only to fall victim to the electrified appliance herself. Afsana's child also suffered burns in the ordeal but survived. The accident did claim the lives of the mother and daughter due to an electric shock. It is believed that the fridge became charged with electricity during a rainstorm.
Upon receiving information, CO Rudrapur Anshuman Srivastava arrived on the scene for investigation. The authorities stated that the family adamantly refused to allow a postmortem, following which the police completed the documentation and released the bodies to the bereaved family members. The deceased's son, who is based in Dubai, is awaited for the last rites.
