Both telecom giants Jio and Airtel have raised the prices of their recharge plans. Jio has hiked the costs for the first time in nearly two and a half years, while Airtel has increased their plan prices by up to INR 600, marking a 27% rise for Jio plans.
The companies have executed these significant hikes post the launch of their 5G services. Previously, there were revisions in some of the plans, but this time, a comprehensive overhaul of the entire portfolio has been implemented. On this juncture, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, stated, 'The introduction of these new plans is a step towards accelerating industry innovation and investment in 5G and AI technologies.'

The company's press release announced, 'Unlimited 5G service will be available in all plans of 2GB and above, effective July 3, 2024. The new plans can be accessed through all touchpoints and channels.'
