Near the scenic Galveston coast in Texas, USA, a Mexican Navy plane met with a tragic fate as it crashed during a crucial medical mission. The plane was carrying eight passengers on board. According to the United States Coast Guard, a minimum of five individuals have succumbed to the accident, prompting an ongoing sea search for the remaining passengers.

A statement released by the Mexican Navy revealed that the aircraft was carrying four Navy officers and four civilians, one of whom was a child. Details concerning the identities of the deceased are still under wraps. Termed as an 'accident,' the Navy has assured a thorough investigation to discern the underlying causes.

Details have emerged that two occupants were associated with the 'Micho and Mau Foundation,' a non-profit organization dedicated to providing care and support for severely burned Mexican children. The mission aimed to transport a burn victim for essential treatment.

Air Ambulance Accident Off Texas Shore

The unfortunate incident unfolded Monday afternoon near a causeway foundation area close to Galveston, positioned approximately 50 miles southeast of Houston. As the plane plummeted into the sea, local law enforcement and emergency response teams were swift to respond.

The U.S. Coast Guard officials reported that rescue operations commenced immediately after the crash, with ongoing searches over the maritime zone. The Mexican Navy confirmed its collaboration with local authorities in the rescue endeavor.

The Texas Department of Public Safety indicated that teams from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have also arrived at the crash site, currently engaged in detailed investigations. Additionally, Galveston County Sheriff's Office disclosed their deployment of dive teams, crime scene units, drone units, and patrol teams.
