Key figures, including Congress Legislative Party leader Okram Ibobi Singh and state Congress president Keshav Meghachandra, reflected on his impactful work.
Dr. Manmohan Singh's Contribution to Manipur's Development!
Speaking to the media, Okram Ibobi Singh noted that under Dr. Manmohan Singh's leadership, significant development transpired in the Northeast region, particularly in Manipur. He acknowledged, "Dr. Singh had a deep affection for Manipur, recognizing its need for special status. This facilitated financial support, enabling substantial infrastructural progress."

He added, "Under this initiative, the construction of the new Assembly and High Court buildings took place. Critical facilities, deemed the backbone of district administration, like district hospitals, were erected in the hill districts. Numerous power substations were also built."
Manmohan Singh Removed AFSPA from Manipur - Keshav Meghachandra
State Congress President Keshav Meghachandra stated, "Dr. Manmohan Singh will be remembered in the annals of Manipur's history. He removed AFSPA from Manipur when it was withdrawn from seven assembly areas and handed Kangla Fort back to the people. These were long-standing demands."

Meghachandra further said, "He initiated and reformed infrastructural advancements. Today's India and today's Manipur are reflections of Dr. Manmohan Singh's contributions."
