ED vs Mamata Banerjee LIVE Updates
: As the West Bengal assembly elections approach, political tensions are escalating. On Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid on the political consultancy and election management company I-PAC in Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived on the scene, intensifying the situation. Two separate FIRs have been filed against the ED in Bengal.
Additionally, the case has reached the court. The TMC has urged the court to declare the ED's actions unlawful and to return all party confidential documents immediately. Earlier in the day, the ED filed a petition, claiming the raids were linked to the 'Bengal coal mining' scam and accused Mamata of hindering the official investigation.
In response to the ED's raids, Mamata Banerjee led a protest march today, describing the action as politically motivated and an attempt to intimidate the TMC ahead of elections. The Bengal Congress has also opposed the ED's raids. The opposition frequently accuses the Modi government of deliberately targeting their leaders through central investigative agencies.
