Today, February 14, a meeting between the central government and a delegation of farmers is scheduled. This significant meeting will see the participation of 28 farmer representatives. Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is currently on a hunger strike, will also attend. Fourteen members will be from the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and the other fourteen from the non-political Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM).

The meeting is a pivotal moment, marking one year since the commencement of Farmer Protest 2.0. It will take place at 5:30 PM on February 14, 2025, at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute, located in Sector 26, Chandigarh. The farmers have issued a warning that if the negotiations fail, they will march to Delhi on February 25.
Farmer leader Sarvan Singh Pandher warned that if the meeting with the central government on February 14 fails, the farmers will intensify their protest by marching on foot to Delhi on February 25. During a press conference, farmers emphasized the importance of including the draft agricultural market policy proposed by the central government in their charter of demands.
Recognizing the public sentiment for a united movement, farmer leaders decided to join the meeting in Chandigarh. Meanwhile, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal's hunger strike has entered its 81st day on Friday at the Khanauri border.
