In light of the Pahalgam terror attack, Manipur Police will launch a statewide survey and verification campaign to identify illegal Bangladeshi and Pakistani residents living without valid documents. This was shared by an officer from Manipur on Tuesday.
A state government official informed PTI that the operation is concentrated on areas such as Lilong, Minuthong, Kwakta, Mayang Imphal, Sora, and Kairang, along with other parts of Imphal Valley, where there are reports of Bangladeshi and Pakistani citizens living illegally without valid visas or ILP.
The concerned officer mentioned that local police stations have been instructed by senior police officials to verify the presence of unauthorized Bangladeshi/Pakistani immigrants and to take appropriate legal actions if any illegal immigrants are found.
Furthermore, police stations have been asked to maintain proper records to showcase their verification efforts.
