The situation in Manipur seems to be spiraling out of control. On Sunday, in response to the escalating circumstances, Union Home Minister Amit Shah canceled his rallies in Vidarbha, Maharashtra, and returned to Delhi from Nagpur. Meanwhile, CRPF Director General Anish Dayal has been dispatched to Manipur. According to sources, this decision follows an ultimatum related to the state's security conditions and escalating violence in the region.
Moreover, internet and mobile data services have been suspended in Jiribam and Pherzawl districts of Manipur today. The situation is becoming increasingly alarming following an attack on a CRPF camp, especially in areas with pronounced ethnic tensions between the Meitei and Kuki communities. The central government continues to keep a close watch on law and order in Manipur.
