NEET Paper Leak Uncovered:
A stunning confession has surfaced in the NEET undergraduate medical entrance exam leakage fiasco. The 'safe house', where several test-takers were harbored and drilled with question papers on the eve of the NEET UG (May 4, 2024), has been rented under the name of a man named Ashutosh. Speaking to Aaj Tak, Ashutosh disclosed the details of the events that unfolded on May 4th and 5th.
May 4th night brought 5-7 candidates, by morning there were over 15
Ashutosh revealed that a day before the NEET exam, his friend brought 5-7 young men to his place, and by the morning of May 5th, more than 15 candidates were present in his room. While speaking to Aaj Tak, he said, 'Manish (Ashutosh's friend) told me there were some acquaintances who have the NEET exam tomorrow, let them stay overnight... I said they can stay but talk to Prabhat Bhaiya once. He didn't speak to Prabhat Bhaiya.'
Ashutosh continued, 'At about 11 pm my friend Manish came with 5-7 boys. When I woke up on the 5th of May, I saw that there were more than 15 candidates in the room. By 10 in the morning of the 5th, everyone was still in the room. Manish had a photocopy of some paper. He distributed the printouts of the paper to all the candidates. Then Manish took everyone to the back room, and that's when the activities began.'
On the day of the exam, Ashutosh went to Jamshedpur
Ashutosh further confessed, 'By 12 pm on May 5th (the NEET UG exam started at 2 pm by the National Testing Agency (NTA)), all the candidates had left. I was sitting in the front room, and on the 5th itself, I went to Jamshedpur, only to find out that the police had raided my room. After hearing about the raid, I turned off my mobile phone. I contacted the administration through my wife's phone. I informed Bhaiya that I made a mistake. On May 4th, some boys had come to his place and again on May 5th. Later, everyone left – my mistake was that Manish brought the boys, and I allowed them to stay.'
'Safe house' rental details revealed
Earlier, rental documents for the 'safe house' (learn boys play school) surfaced. According to the rental agreement, Renu Kumar and her husband Prabhat Kumar had rented out their building to Ashutosh Kumar for maintenance and accommodation purposes. The rent was 5000 rupees per month.
