In the Ravas forests of Kanker, Chhattisgarh, an encounter with security forces led to the demise of three Naxalites. Officials stated that a team from the local District Reserve Guard (DRG) set out on an anti-Naxal mission from Kanker and Gariaband in the morning, which is when the Naxalites began firing. Gunfire continued in the area during the confrontation.
So far, the encounter site has yielded the bodies of three Naxalites along with three weapons. Officials informed that the deceased Naxalites were members of the local Maoist regional committee.
In the ongoing campaign against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh, a total of 252 Naxalites have been neutralized this year. Of these, 223 were in the Bastar division, which includes seven districts including Kanker, while 27 were in Gariaband. Additionally, two Naxalites were neutralized in the Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki area of Durg district.

According to the police, on September 22, two senior Maoist leaders from the central committee, 63-year-old Raju Dada alias Katta Ramchandra Reddy, and 67-year-old Kosa Dada alias Kadri Satyanarayana Reddy were neutralized in a confrontation in Narayanpur district. Intelligence-driven operations continue in Bastar and the surrounding districts to avert future attacks.
Officials stated that the investigation of the encounter and security operations is ongoing, and details regarding any additional arrests or recoveries will be shared later. Security forces maintain pressure on Naxalites at local and district levels to prevent incidents of violence, staying vigilant in the process.
