First Change: LPG Prices Drop
The country has witnessed another cut in LPG prices. Domestic gas cylinder prices have remained unchanged, whereas commercial LPG cylinder prices have been revised, effective from 6 AM on July 1, 2024. There has been a series of price adjustments in commercial 19 kg LPG cylinders (Commercial LPG Cylinder) recently.

Following the latest amendment, the price of cylinders in Delhi today is cheaper by 30 rupees. If we talk about the Delhi LPG Price, it has been reduced from 1676 rupees to 1646 rupees. In Kolkata, it will now cost 1756 rupees instead of 1787 rupees. In Chennai, the price of a commercial cylinder has been dropped to 1809.50 rupees from 1840.50 rupees, and in Mumbai, it's now 1598 rupees, previously at 1629 rupees.
Second Change: Credit Card Bill Payment
If you use credit cards (Credit Card), note that rules have changed from July 1, 2024. Significant adjustments to credit card payments have been implemented from the first day of the month. This may cause difficulties with certain bill payment platforms. These platforms include fintech like CRED, PhonePe, BillDesk. According to RBI's new regulations, all credit card bills as of July 1 should be made through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS). Everyone will need to process billing via BBPS from now on.

Third Change: SIM Card Port Rule
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) continues to revise regulations with security in mind. A significant change related to SIM cards has come into force from July 1, 2024. TRAI has introduced this rule to prevent SIM swap fraud. Under these regulations, in case of SIM card theft or damage, customers will have to wait longer than before. Previously, a new SIM card was immediately available at the store, but with the New Rule, there's a locking period extension, requiring users to wait for 7 days.
It's worth noting that TRAI shared information in March 2024 via a post about changes to the SIM portability rules effective from July 1.
Fourth Change: Mobile Talk Will Cost More
Another change that goes into effect in July 2024 concerns your mobile phone. Companies like Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea have all increased their tariff plans. The new plans will be in place from July 3-4.
Fifth Change: Banks Closed for 12 Days
The RBI has uploaded the bank holiday list for July on their website. According to it, banks will be closed for 12 days (Bank Holidays List in July 2024). The holidays may vary across different states based on local events.
