In Jalgaon, Maharashtra, a train dragged a wheat-filled truck for approximately 500 meters. The truck driver attempted to cross the tracks by breaking the closed railway gate when suddenly a fast-moving train appeared. The truck was pulled along a significant distance with the train. Thankfully, no one was injured in this unfortunate event.

According to information received, the Amravati Express (12111) dragged a truck loaded with wheat for nearly 500 meters near the Bodwad railway station at around 4:30 AM. This mishap occurred as the truck driver, unaware, tried to cross the tracks by breaking the closed railway crossing, only for the speeding train to arrive unexpectedly.

The railway crossing near Bodwad station has currently been closed due to the completion of a new bridge. However, local drivers are not fully aware of this change. As a result, on Friday morning, a truck driver, while carrying a wheat-laden truck, attempted to cross the tracks, oblivious of the closed status of the railway gate.

The closed railway gate was broken by the truck, putting the vehicle right on the tracks, just as the Amravati Express came speeding down. Despite the driver's quick thinking and application of the emergency brakes, the train couldn’t be stopped in time. Consequently, the truck collided with the train’s engine and was dragged nearly 500 meters.

Quick Thinking of Train Driver Averts Major Disaster

During the incident, the train driver maintained high vigilance and made concerted efforts to stop the train using emergency brakes. Had the driver not reacted promptly, there might have been a catastrophic accident. Thankfully, no passenger or railway staff sustained any injuries, and there was no loss of life or property.
