'No Comedian Clown in Maharashtra', Shiv Sena MP Raises the Issue in Lok Sabha

The political temperature is rising over comedian Kunal Kamra's comments about Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde. The controversy has now echoed in Parliament. On Tuesday, Shiv Sena MP Dhairyasheel Sambhajirao Mane addressed this issue in the Lok Sabha during a discussion on the finance bill, calling for restrictions on such platforms.

Shiv Sena MP for Hatkanangle in Maharashtra, Dhairyasheel Sambhajirao Mane, called out the remarks without mentioning Kamra's name, stating, 'In the last two days, you've seen how an empty-headed clown utters nonsense using the Deputy Chief Minister's name.' He suggested that principles should be established and boundaries drawn.

The Shiv Sena MP further stated that it's more beneficial to comment on policies rather than individuals, welcoming such critique. He also mentioned that many try to run their political agendas under the guise of comedy, including a figure he referenced as Ganjabhoot. Mane clarified that he wasn't naming anyone specifically, but the person known as Ganjabhoot should understand the implication.

He claimed scripts are written here, and then a comedian clown ends up irrationally ranting on stage in Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena MP also made a plea in Parliament to impose bans on platforms that are creating tensions between individuals in the state. Notably, Kunal Kamra's remarks about Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during his comedy act enraged Shiv Sena supporters, leading them to vandalize his studio.
