Whether on the bus, train, or anywhere else, you've likely seen most people engrossed in their phones. Increasing screen time has led to problems ranging from health issues to relationship strains. In a unique venture, Maharashtra's Sangli village has implemented a daily 2.3-hour digital detox. This initiative was shared by Cyber Dost I4C on platform X.
Cyber Dost I4C posted on X that every day at 7 PM, a siren sounds in the village of Sangli, marking the beginning of a two-and-a-half-hour Digital Detox.
During this digital detox, everyone has to disengage from their smartphones and gadgets. This leads to more interpersonal communication, reminding us that technology should not dominate our lives.

How to Practice Digital Detox
Even those living outside Sangli can practice digital detox by establishing and adhering to some personal rules.
Set a designated time to stay away from mobile phones and gadgets.
Commit to avoiding TV, gadgets, or laptops during that time daily.
Initially, aim to distance from the smartphone for 30-60 minutes daily.
Switch off the smartphone 30 minutes before sleeping.
Manage incoming notifications on the smartphone.
Create phone-free zones at home and impose limitations on social media usage.
The villagers also refrain from watching TV during this period. Instead, they engage with family, neighbors, or participate in community activities, a practice followed by the entire village.
