The Government of Maharashtra has announced financial support of 5 million rupees for the families of victims from Maharashtra who perished in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. This announcement was made during a state cabinet meeting on Tuesday, where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid heartfelt tributes to the victims. Beyond financial aid, the government aims to address the educational and employment needs of the affected families.

During the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis officially declared that the daughter of Santosh Jagdale, a victim of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, would be offered a government job. This decision follows discussions where the government had previously promised employment to the victim's daughter; a commitment now endorsed through the Chief Minister's special authority. Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir government announced ex-gratia payments of 1 million rupees for the families of the deceased victims and 200,000 rupees for those seriously injured.
