According to sources, an anti-Naxal special team, C-60, has been dispatched towards the encounter site. It is anticipated that the Naxalites have suffered significant losses. With the Maharashtra assembly elections coming up next month, this encounter is being considered crucial.
Notorious Female Naxalite with Rs. 1 Crore Bounty Arrested in Telangana
Recently, Telangana police arrested a notorious female Naxalite with a reward of Rs. 1 crore on her head. Identified as Sujata, she was involved in several major Naxalite incidents in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. According to police, she was apprehended while seeking medical treatment in Mahbubnagar, Hyderabad, Telangana.
Sources reveal that Sujata is the widow of Naxalite leader Koteshwar Rao alias Kishanji. After Kishanji was killed by police in 2011, she moved from Bengal to Bastar, becoming active and holding multiple positions, including in charge of the Bastar Divisional Committee.
Extortion Gang Busted in Jharkhand, 6 Arrested
Recently in Latehar, Jharkhand, police busted a major extortion gang, arresting six individuals. According to police, these criminals posed as Naxalites to extort money from people.
Security forces seized four rifles, a country-made pistol, and four live cartridges from the Naxalites. Anil Yadav, with a criminal background, had formed the gang to extort money. He was first caught near a forest in his village Jungur in the Manika police station area, and during interrogation, his information led to the arrest of other gang members.
