Congress Announces Five Key Guarantees
Under the Mahalakshmi Scheme, Congress has committed to providing women with a monthly allowance of Rs. 3000. Additionally, the manifesto outlines plans for free bus services for women.
Within the Kutumb Raksha initiative, the MVA assures free medications and healthcare insurance up to Rs. 2.5 million per individual. The MVA also promises a caste census and aims to abolish the reservation ceiling of 50%, aspiring to emulate Tamil Nadu's system.
For the farmers, MVA plans include waiving debts up to Rs. 300,000, with further incentives of Rs. 50,000 for those who repay their regular loans.
Regarding the youth, the MVA pledges Rs. 4000 monthly support for unemployed individuals.
During the announcement, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge remarked on the significance of the Maharashtra elections for the entire nation, stating that the whole country looks towards Mumbai for change. He pointed out the coalition's initiative in introducing the Mahalakshmi Scheme, intended to empower women, which was initially mocked but later imitated by Modi.
Aiming Unity Over Division
In a striking statement, Kharge criticized divisive slogans, asserting, 'By embracing Manusmriti, you've divided the nation. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed themselves for national unity. United we stand strong. We shed blood for independence.'
